It's time to get signed up for our fall meeting in Clinton on October 11 -
13! The meetings will be held at the Mississippi River Eco Tourism Center
in Camanche, just south of Clinton. The Upper Mississippi River National
Wildlife Refuge will offer us many great options for field trips. Other
nearby hotspots include Princeton WMA, Goose Lake WMA, Manikowski Prairie
and Eagle Point Park. Clinton County Conservation has a 24-passenger
pontoon (the Blue Heron) available for exploring Pool #13 of the river.
With waterbird migration in full swing, that should be a lot of fun.

Our keynote speaker will be Derek Lovitch. Derek is a career biologist
who's passion for birds has taken him down many paths. He's a researcher,
tour guide, author and bird supply store owner in Freeport, Maine. Derek
recently published the book "How To Be A Better Birder", which will be the
topic of his presentation.

Please visit the NEXT MEETING page of the IOU website for details about
the meeting, including costs and lodging options. It can be reached from
both the IOU and EVENTS tabs.

Hope to see you there!
