This morning a PIPING PLOVER was a pleasant surprise as it's not         
always seen every year at Hawkeye. The location was west of Sand Point      and 
straight north from that shoreline, requiring a scope. I walked 
around the end of Sand Point's west cove, crossing a small creek,            to 
get to the spot. Otherwise, similar shorebirding to yesterday but no Western 
Sandpiper.
