Hi All,
This morning a Yellow Rail was flushed at Horseshoe Bend Wildlife
Area in Louisa County. This bird had the largest and most brilliant
white trailing edge we have ever seen. The grassland and marsh area
is very large, so it is difficult to give directions to exact location, but it
was in
the grassland along 114th Avenue about two miles in from Louisa County
Road X99 east of Wapello. There were also LeConte's Sparrows in the area
but no Nelson's Sharp-taileds. Also in Louisa County, there were 10
Sandhill Cranes at Cone Marsh, south of the south road.
