Tonight just as the sun was setting, I saw my first SHORT-EARED OWL of
the season at Neal Smith NWR. It flushed from the shoulder of the paved
entry road near the north end of the refuge. I haven't been driving the
gravel roads lately but may have to start again now that it is SEOW
season. I also saw a NORTHERN HARRIER close to the Visitor Center.
