On my way home from the Jamaica count today I decided to check out Jay's Snowy Owl. I did not find it, BUT, I did discover the makings of an old Christmas carol. If you go south on James (by the water towers) in Grimes, past the school on the west, turn R (West) at the next road which is marked 19th SW. About 3/4- to 1-1/4 mile I had "8 Swans a-sleeping" on the N side of the road. I presume they were Trumpeters, but hard to tell the way they were laying in the field. Pretty neat and unexpected.
