Yesterday afternoon was extremely busy at Jester Park. Besides the expected
Mallards and Canada Geese, there were very large numbers of Greater White
Fronted Geese and Northern Pintail at the middle/north end of the park. Also
saw at least one each of male and female Red Breasted Mergansers. A handful of
Ring-billed Gulls present. Further south near the amphitheater area had a huge
flock of Snow Geese. Largest group I've seen since when I was young at DeSoto
Bend NWR. Probably at least a few to several thousand. From the same spot I
could see 6 eagles feeding from the ice.
