In the stiff cold wind today, there were the usual thousands of
WHITE-FRONTED and SNOW GEESE with a few ROSS'S mixed in, mostly seen from
T Avenue on the East side of the marsh. A LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE was seen on V
Ave just before it intersects with 220th Street. Up to eleven SANDHILL
CRANES were seen. There were two MUTE SWANS located on 220th street just
south of its intersection with V Avenue on the West side of the road. Not
very many ducks today other than Mallards, as many of the formerly
numerous PINTAILS had apparently moved on. The female BALD EAGLE is still
sitting on her nest on the South-East corner of the marsh (requires a
scope to see well).
