Mike Stevens and I birded Sedan this afternoon find 44 species and 19 species of waterfowl. The best sightings were: 305 Greater White-fronted Geese, 4590 Snow Geese, 8 Ross's Geese, 51 Trumpeter Swans, 560 Mallards, 94 Pintails, 18 Wigeon, 900 Canvasback, 1880 Ring-necked, 1 Common Goldeneye, 3 Bufflehead, 12 Hooded Merganser, 2 Turkey Vulture, 10 Bald Eagle,(one on nest), 2 N. Harrier, 1 Rough-legged, 5 Wild Turkey, 3 Am Coot, 1 Eastern Meadowlark (heard), 1 Western Meadowlark (heard), and 12 Common Grackle. Ray Cummins/Ankeny, IA
