I was getting new internet service installed and could not post yesterday. So, this is a day late. On Tuesday morning and afternoon, there were 4 American Advocets present at Dunbar Slough in Green County. They are in the marshes feed by artisian well at the corner of A Ave. and 270th street. There was a fair amount of the common waterfowl present and a good sized group of White-fronted Geese and some Snows. Shorebirds were few, with only Pectorial Sandpipers and Lesser Yellowlegs present. Near that area a very friendly light morph Swainson's Hawk was present. I think he sat still for nice photos, because he was waiting for something to happen. You will see what I mean if you view the photos.
Much of Dunbar is dry including the large area with the boat ramp.
I did go to Swan Lake later in the day. It was active with lots of waterfowl. I did not see Matt's Ibis or Snowy. Palm Warblers, Yellow-rumps and Kinglets were present. If you would like to view some nice early morning photos of the Advocets and Swainson's hawk, you can go to this link. They are near the front of the album.

The White-throated Sparrows arrived in big numbers last night at my house. 20 under the feeder right now.
