54 degrees! How great does that feel after the cold days we've been having
lately?! I went out to Maffitt Reservoir Sunday morning and while there
wasn't any sun, there definitely were a lot of birds! I don't have a
scope but there were still lots of opportunities to ID birds from shore.
Canvasback
Mallard
Wood Duck
Coot
Pie-billed Grebe
Goldeneye
Bufflehead
5 Trumpeter Swans
Lots of V's of geese and on the water too
And in the trees Red-bellied, Downy, Hairy WP. Nuthatches, chickadees,
cardinals, blue jays, juncos.
Most surprising of all was right was I was getting ready to leave I saw a
Bluebird perched in a tree right beside my Jeep. Great to see him out
enjoying the warm weather.
