Hi, I was asked by David Farning to forward this invitation on the next Skolelinux / Debian Edu developer gathering, in Trondheim, Norway 24-26 April.
* We will do a user conference on Friday 24 April in Narvik. Neighbouring municipalities are now considering Skolelinux cause of reduce tax income due to the financial crisis. They want to hear more about the success of Narvik with 1200 low fat and thin clients at 15 schools. The administration also want to know a bit more on OpenOffice for administrative use. Also netbooks and how free software will be used on mobile devices are hot topics. * We invite developers to Trondheim at the same weekend as Narvik, 24-26 April. Arnt Ove Gregersen invited developer to Trondheim 10 days ago. First he suggested to house this at his home. Since more were interested, his employer said yes to use their office for the weekend. Food and travel will be covered. By going to Trondheim developers can work considerable longer compared to Narvik. Full flights on Sunday 24 April prevents traveling from the Narvik, making Trondheim the absolute best option for developers. Of course, there are possibilities to contribute in Narvik too. But then you need to stay from Friday to Monday, leaving on Monday 4:40 in the morning. Going to Trondheim is the best option for all those who has to work on Monday 27 April. Please consult the Skolelinux wiki[1] to approve travel cost, technical details etc.: 1. http://friprogramvareiskolen.no/Gathering/2009-04-24.26-Narvik For any questions, please consult the Debian Edu e-mail list: [email protected] Best regards Knut Yrvin -- Skolelinux mob: + 47 934 79 561 _______________________________________________ IAEP -- It's An Education Project (not a laptop project!)
