+1

That's how I got started with OLPC. I wrote pages about something I
knew, starting with keyboard layouts, fonts, and other language
apparatus.

I'm about to start a new page that could use tons of research. One of
Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn's staffers has asked me to provide data and
contacts on all state-level one-to-one computing initiatives,
including California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's plan for Free
Digital Textbooks. While we are at it, I would like to collect data
for all OLPC groups, and for city-level projects and country projects
outside the US.

This set of pages will support creation of a state consortium to
develop one-to-one computing programs, including those using the XO,
to share R&D costs and results, to demonstrate the benefits of Free
Software, and to get contracts let out for developing Free Digital
Learning Materials.

Here is our first lesson: Alan Kay's Gravity for Ten-Year-Olds, done
up in Turtle Art.

And now I am off to a Linux Installfest to spread the word further.
