Over the weekend I installed kino on one of my computers and I'm trying to learn how to use it to edit my videos. There are fancier programs for video editing on Linux but this one does what I think I need. It can convert my .ogv files from recordmydesktop to .dv, does simple non-destructive editing, allows me to create titles and transitions, encodes the edited file to XVid, and runs pretty well on a Pentium III. The one thing it won't do is add a music track to my video, but I couldn't legally use the music I'd like anyway.
I should have a video for Read Etexts later this week. When I'm happy with that I'll look at making one for Get Internet Archive Books and Read. They won't be fancy, but they should do an OK job of demonstrating the use of these Activities. I haven't heard anything from Dave C so I'm going to assume he's lost interest.
