Although Android prefers a Linuxy / Javaesque environment, Google did hire
the prime mover behind Python, Guido van Rossum.

And... :-) ...a search turns up ASE -- the Android Scripting Environment, a
downloadable app that gives your phone Python, Lua, Ruby, Perl, JavaScript
and Tcl interpreters.
