There are a couple of projects about chess in Uruguay. They don't allow collaboration (yet?):
Ceibal-chess http://ceibaljam.org/drupal/?q=node/25 This one uses the gnu engine and works well in a XO 1.0 Ajedrez y leyendas http://www.ajedrezyleyendas.com/ To be released really soon (as in two weeks).
