Hi Folks…

I finally have the definite information about our OLPC/Sugar Labs booth at
SCaLE11X the weekend of February 22-24. We will be setting up sometime on
Friday afternoon (probably between 4PM and 6PM). Then, we will need people to
"mind the store" (help with the booth) from 9:30 AM to 6 PM on Saturday and
Sunday.

If you want to attend and can donate a few hours to helping with the booth,
please let me know asap. Reply with your name, the day/days you can help, and
whether you prefer morning or afternoon. When I know how many people we will
have, I can make a schedule for you to actually pick your preferred time or
times.

Then, go to https://reg.socallinuxexpo.org/reg6/ and register for the Full
Access Pass, but don't pay. Instead, send me your registration number and the
email address you used when you registered. I'll go in and complete your
registration with one of the booth "coupons" I have.

The number of coupons I have is limited, so don't delay. I can ask for more if
we need them, but there is no guarantee we will get them.

The full registration pass will allow you to attend sessions, the evening
events and visit all of the other booths. If you are a teacher or student with
ID and are only interested in the exhibits, and not the other events, the cost
for attending is only $5. For others, the exhibit hall is $10. Don't forget
there will be a special youth conference on Saturday, SCaLE-TNG (The Next
Generation).

Once again, we will have a great location with a corner booth. I am arranging
to borrow an XO-4, hopefully a fairly recent model… but an earlier one will do.

I also have a TV/DVD that can play short videos about various OLPC and Sugar
projects. If you have a project and a short video (3-5 min) you would like us
to use, let me know.

I am also hoping to get Sugar running on my Raspberry Pi, but haven't even
started on that yet. Has anyone reading this already accomplished this? If so,
are you coming to SCaLE? Or, can we correspond "off list" about how to do it?

We will again have XOs for people to play with and a couple of XO-1.75s with
the ARM processor that can run on a solar panel and/or charge with a hand crank.

I'll send more info as I get it. Meanwhile, you can check the SCaLE11X website
and see the schedule of speakers and events which are now posted there:
https://www.socallinuxexpo.org/scale11x

Hope to see you there!
Caryl
