Holditch During the past two centuries, the world has gone from using wood, coal and oil as the primary fuels. In the 21st Century, natural gas will be the most widely used fuel. In this presentation, information will be presented to explain that we are about to exit the golden age of oil and enter the golden age of gas. The gas cycle will be explained and future uses of natural gas will be explored. Information concerning liquefied natural gas, gas-to-liquids technology, gas by wire and unconventional gas production will be provided. The presentation is a comprehensive view of the natural gas business for the coming century. STEPHEN A. HOLDITCH SCHLUMBERGER FELLOW Stephen A. Holditch is a Schlumberger Fellow.
