Indonesia Confirms China LNG Deal for 25 Yrs
JAKARTA (Reuters) - Indonesia's state oil firm Pertamina confirmed on Tuesday it would sign a lucrative liquefied natural gas deal with China National Offshore Oil Corp (CNOOC) on Thursday which would run for 25 years. Indonesia had only previously said it expected the agreement - under which oil giant BP plc will supply gas from the giant Tangguh field in the remote Papua province to a proposed terminal in Fujian - would cover a 25 year-period. "Pertamina and CNOOC will sign the gas sales agreement to supply LNG to Fujian on Thursday. We have already agreed on the price and for a period of 25 years," Pertamina president director Baihaki Hakim told reporters.
