Rekan rekan IAGI Pada saat ini di Malaysia sedang ribut persoalan mengenai pengiriman air dari Johor(Malaysia) ke Singapura .
Harian 2 Malaysia menyort denga tajam sikap "ketidak sabaran" Pemerintah Malaysia yang merasa dipermainkan oleh tetangganya dalam perundingan harga air yang mereka kirim. Berikut beberap cuplikan terakhir dari statement (the Strai Times 14/10/2002) : "KL ultimatum gives S'pore "once last chance " on water" yang berbunyi al " Malaysia served notice yesterday that it was giving Singapore "one last chance" to agree a higher price for water from Johor, or it would seek third party arbritation................... Foreign Minister Syed Hamid Albar accused the Republic of not being serious about resolveing the problem. He was qouted by Bernama news agency thet the party which was recieving "the best source of water" should threaten Malaysia. .......... "if not , we will be wasting time talking without end...the crux of the matter is Singapore is not showing NY EARNESTNESS ... AS though they are meeting us with a view to delaying finding a solution"............ Last month, Prime Minister Maathie Mohamad referred to arbritration on te matter ......... Yesterday , Datuk Seri Syed Hamid said:"When they meet us they tell us this and we understand ...it is not THAT WE DO NOTUNDERSTAND ENGLISH ...THE LANGUANGE IS SIMPLE ... but when they return home their meaning becomes different.".......And on Friday , the Prime Minister said Malaysia intended TO BACKDATED the new price of water to 1986 and 987 once an agreement was reached. PINTERNYA SINGAPURA UNTUK BERKELIT ADALAH SBB : ....The 1961 and 1962 water agreements ,which provide for S'pore to buy raw water from Johor three cents (1.4 Sin cents) perthousands gallon, allow for price revision after 25 years - that is 1986 and 1987 Siingapore's stand that since the 25-year mark passed without a review , Malaysia no lnger has a legal basis to raise price of water. Pinter yaaach. Nah bagaimana dengan persoalan pasir laut yang sekarang ok tidak lagi terdengar beritanya , apakah sudah ada konsesus ???? Berangkali ada yang tahu infonya !!!!! Apa mau didismkan saja , mengingat banyak yang untung dengan adanya binis pasir yang dibeli (juga) dengan harga murah oleh S'pura ? Akibat perluasan daratan S'pore tentunya akan berdampak pada median laine laut antara RI dan S'pore (karena ang diperluas adalah bagian Selatan, apa ada yang tahu etilnya dari segi hukum laut ????
