Dear Sir/Madam, The Twenty-Ninth Annual IPA Convention & Exhibition will be held at the Jakarta Convention Center on October 14-16, 2003. The Technical Program Committee issues the CALL FOR PAPERS attached to capture potential papers suitable for the technical portion of the convention. The theme for the 2003 IPA Annual Convention & Exhibition is "Sustainable Development and Energy Resources: Adapting to Change". This theme is of keen interest to us and should stimulate lively discussion about the impact of recent changes, such as regional autonomy, on oil and gas activities. This gives us the opportunity to specifically target individuals like yourself and ask if you or your staff have any technical works that you would like to share or promote. A set of preliminary session titles has been constructed by the committee to help authors adjusting their thoughts to the theme. The deadline for submitting abstracts is January 17, 2003 to insure that sufficient time is allowed for authors to submit abstracts and - if qualified - to produce first-rate papers before the convention. Our objective is to try to put together a strong program around the future of our oil & gas industries. We are targeting approximately 100 papers addressing topics of current interest to the petroleum industry. The technical program, therefore, offers a unique opportunity for interaction amongst participants from academics, leading oil companies, and service companies. Your continued support is critical to the success of the Twenty-Ninth Annual IPA Convention & Exhibition as the premier oil industry conference in SE Asia.
