Saya sependapat dengan pak Hasan, tapi ya sayang sekali rupanya sudah
diputuskan panitia. Padahal mestinya di antipasi dulu berapa percent sih
orang-orang yang paranoid dari sono (lebih banyak orang asing yang tidak
paranoid lho!) yang diperkirakan/diharapkan hadir? Waspada memang harus
dan perlu, tetapi jangan ikut-ikutan terdramatisir keadaan yang tidak akan
menolong percepatan perbaikan kondisi (or at least image). Pak Purnomo
saja malah meng-encourage untuk melaksakan marathon Bali 10K yang saya
dengar rencananya akan diadakan akhir Januari 2003 yang tentu salah satu
tujuannya untuk membantu merecover "kembalikan Bali (baca: Indonesia)-Ku"

Yang jelas cancellation itu merupakan kesepakatan hampir seluruh pelaku
akti
kegiatan, kecuali satu orang yang teguh melanjutkan terus. Yang satu ini
menyadari bahwa mayoritas berpendapat lain, dan akhirnya rekan kita ini
juga
dapat menerima.
Sebelum bom Bali, rekan-rekan di SEG sudah ragu-ragu untuk terus. Karena
HAGI bersikukuh untuk terus, tentu dengan mengetengahkan argumen, akhirnya
pada 9 Oktober SEG menyetujui untuk terus. Dengan adanya Bali bombing,
bila
conference diteruskan kita-kita dapat memperkirakan akan rugi finansial
dan
mental. Nah kerugian itu, terutama kerugian mental, menyebabkan kami harus
stop, parkir sambil mikir penbiayaan yang sudah keluar yang cukup banyak
Saya pribadi berpendapat kalau soal intangible profit untuk sementara
sudah
saya serahkan mereka yang ahli, para pemimpin itu. Saya ngurusin geosains
saja Frans ... he ...he he... jangan marah ya ...

kalau diteruskan,
committee akan financially "merugi"
