Santos is seeking a national Senior Geologist to join its Jakarta-based Exploration Team The successful candidate will playa major role in regional hydrocarbon play assessments and prospects and leads definition in operated properties In Indonesia and also in the identification and recommendation of New Venture opportunities. The successful candidate should have a solid educational background in Geology and exposure to seismic interpretation techniques. A minimum of 10 years of hydrocarbon exploration experience with reputable companies is a pre-requisite As a minimum your skills inventory must include: Proven ability in the assessment and documentation of hydrocarbon play systems. . Proven ability to describe, document and present prospects and leads, and preparation of well proposals. Ability to conduct geochemical modelling, experience of BasinMod or equivalent. Thorough understanding of depositional systems, clastic and carbonate reservoir distributions, characterization and diagenesis. Ability to conduct petrophysical analyses. Ability to utilize workstation software such as Geoframe (LESX and Geology Office), Geolog and/or others. A working knowledge and interpretation of seismic and sequence stratigraphy. Expertise in Exploration Risk Assessment Techniques, objective quantification of Risk and Uncertainty and value based decision making in exploration. You should be a confident self-starter who requires a minimum amount of supervision. You should have a proven track record of being able to meet deadlines and deliver products of high quality Fluency in spoken and written English is essential.
