ABSTRACT
Total estimated investment requirement for energy supply infrastructure worldwide over
the 2001-2030 period is 16 Trillion US dollars and accounts for about 1% of total
global GDP. Oil and Gas is one of the most heavily taxed and regulated industries in
the world. Yet government take varies wildly from country to country, and even within
an individual country government take can have a wide variance. This presentation
reviews mechanisms for government take, impact on foreign investors and governments,
and implications for capital investing on a worldwide base and also specifically here
in Indonesia.
