Certainly. It's going south. There is a paper in Nature that was published about a month ago (by McCulcey et al?) that had calculated how the "shadow stress" of the Aceh earthquake put subduction interface segment below Nias close to failure. There is a strong indication that this stress loading will be continuing south onto the Mentawai segment, which is now already on the edge of the interseismic period. However, no real calculation has been made yet. We need to gather data from the SuGAr (Sumatran GPS Array) to enable us make such modeling.
