Dear All,
The Indonesian Petroleum Association (IPA) will conduct a 4-days course
entitled "Corrosion Control in Oil and Gas Production". The course will be
held in Bali from May 22-25, 2006 and will be taught by Dr. Yves Gunaltun of
Total E&P, France.
"This course is mainly practical. Theoretical part is limited to minimum
required for understanding of corrosion process. The course objective is to
give general but quite detailed information to engineers involved in corrosion,
inspection, design and maintenance. The course can be attended by young
corrosion engineers. Corrosion course includes internal corrosion by CO2 and
H2S, top of line corrosion, hydrogen embrittlement, bacteria corrosion, sand
erosion, control of internal corrosion by chemicals and corrosion resistant
alloys, corrosion monitoring, external corrosion and its control by painting,
coating and cathodic protection".
"Dr. Gunaltun is graduated chemical engineer. He has a PhD degree in
electrochemistry and analytical electrochemistry from INPG (France). He joined
Total in 1982 as corrosion engineer. He was seconded to ZADCO (Abu Dhabi -UAE)
from mid 1987 to end of 1992 as senior corrosion engineer. Then he was seconded
to Qatargas (Houston - USA) mid 1993 as material engineer for LNG project.
Since mid 1994 he is in the technology division of Total EP in charge of
developments projects and technical assistance for Brunei, Indonesia, Thailand,
Myanmar, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Russia. He has been involved in R&D
projects in Ohio University and IFE (Norway). He gives lectures in some
universities in France, USA, Turkey, Algeria, Thailand and Indonesia".
The course fee is US$ 1,450 for IPA Members and US$ 1,550 for Non- IPA Members.
The course fee includes hotel accommodation for 5 (five) nights.
Please let me know if you have any questions; I can be reached by e-mail at:
