About the Engineering Competency   
We are a new Division within Lukoil Overseas Services Ltd established to 
provide technical support, technical solutions and generally support all 
business processes in the upstream sector.   The goal of the new Engineering 
Division is to improve the quality of the exploration and production activities 
in the Company.  In pursuit of this goal, engineering experts will review and 
recommend new technologies, define best practices, support and define 
exploration and production strategies, solve technical problems and seek 
training solutions for all employees in the upstream sector.   There are six 
departments (Drilling, Geology, Geophysics, Reservoir, Production and 
Facilities) under the command of a Division Head.  Initially, each department 
will consist of a Head of Department and two Chief Specialists.   
 
Division Head
Degree in Earth Science or Petroleum Engineering (MSc or PhD), and experience 
of 10 years plus in the industry.   The candidate will be 35 years plus with 
several years' practical managerial experience and a broad experience of 
technical exploration and production issues. They will have an in-depth 
knowledge of several if not all the following; geology, geophysics, production, 
drilling and field development.   Experience of deep water exploration and/or 
heavy oils would be an advantage.  Experience in a major engineering center and 
international experience an advantage. English language skills required. 
 
Head of Department (geology) 
Degree in Earth Science or Petroleum Engineering (MSc or PhD) and experience of 
7 years plus in the industry.   Candidate will probably be aged 30-35 years.  
They will have an in depth and extensive experience of several if not all the 
following; geological, static reservoir and geophysical modeling, sequence 
stratigraphy, seismic interpretation, log analysis, reservoir models, petroleum 
play concepts, gravity and magnetics, exploration strategy, basin analysis 
principles. The ideal candidate will also have knowledge of facies analysis, 
geochemistry, global tectonics, biostratigraphy and structural geology and have 
basic knowledge of seismic processing. Good experience of 2D/3D seismic 
workstation interpretation and/or PC geological software tools is required.    
Experience of deep water exploration and/or heavy oils would be useful, as 
would experience of management of a geologic team. English language skills 
required 
 
Chief Specialist (geology) 
Degree in Earth Science or Petroleum Engineering (MSc or PhD) and experience of 
5 years plus in the industry.   Candidate will probably be around 28 years old, 
with a sound understanding of petroleum geology and basin analysis. They will 
have experience with the creation and analysis of geological and static 
reservoir models.   Some knowledge of seismic interpretation, sedimentary 
processes, carbonate and clastic environments is an advantage. Experience of 
deep water exploration and/or heavy oils would be an advantage. English 
language skills required
 
Head of Department (geophysics) 
Degree in Earth Science or Petroleum Engineering (MSc or PhD) and experience of 
7 years plus in the industry. The ideal candidate will probably be aged 30-35 
years, have an in-depth knowledge and experience of geophysical techniques in 
exploration and production including several if not all the following skills; 
static reservoir and geophysical modeling, seismic processing and 
interpretation, log analysis, petroleum play concepts, gravity and magnetics, 
exploration strategy and basin analysis. The candidate should understand the 
fundamentals of seismic waves, have a strong knowledge of seismic processing 
and be confident with advanced seismic techniques such as attribute and offset 
volumes.   Experience of deep water exploration and/or heavy oils would be an 
advantage. Broad experience in 2D/3D workstation interpretation and/or PC 
geological software tools is extremely useful for this position.   Experience 
in management of a seismic team an advantage. English language
 skills required. 
 
Chief Specialist (geophysics) 
Degree in Earth Science or Petroleum Engineering (MSc or PhD) and experience of 
5 years plus in the industry.   The ideal candidate will be 28 years old with a 
good knowledge of seismic waves and good experience of geophysical techniques.  
Ideally they will also have a good understanding of several of the following; 
petroleum geology, basin analysis, log analysis, gravity and magnetics and 
geophysical modeling and seismic processing.   Ideally they will also have a 
good knowledge of seismic attributes, offset volumes and how to drive a 2D/3D 
seismic workstation.  Experience of deep water exploration and/or heavy oils 
would be an advantage. English language skills required
 
 
Head of Department (Reservoir Engineering) 
Degree in. in Earth science, Petroleum Engineering or Reservoir Engineering, 
(MSc or Ph.D) and experience of 7 years in the industry. The ideal candidate 
will have a good understanding of drive mechanisms in normal and fractured 
reservoirs, understand and use core and RFT data, integrate reservoir 
performance and well tests with geoscience data to determine reservoir layering 
and continuity. It would be a strong advantage if they can calculate PVT data 
from oil and gas compositional analysis using correlations or non-EOS models, 
understand and be able to apply statistical methods to reserve estimation, 
apply coning and multi-phase flow analysis to oil & gas recovery calculations 
and optimal field development, understand the principles of reservoir/fluid 
behavior and recovery processes under miscible, chemical flooding, steam based 
thermal and combustion processes and apply concepts of process design ( e.g. 
profile control, pressures, temperatures, fluid composition,
 injectivity etc.) to compute incremental recovery performance. Experience in 
management of a reservoir team an advantage. English language skills required.
 
Chief specialist (Reservoir Engineering) 
Degree in. in Earth science, Petroleum Engineering or Reservoir Engineering, 
(MSc or Ph.D) and experience of 5 years in the industry. The ideal candidate 
will have a good understanding of several of the following; principles of drive 
mechanisms, material balance, pressure maintenance, recovery estimation, 
decline analysis and volumetrics to determine oil reservoir performance. It 
would be an advantage to be able to determine where to perforate production and 
injection wells, taking into account degree of pressure communication and 
impermeable barriers, understand the principles of Equations of State and their 
use in fluid characterization plus understand the main enhanced recovery 
mechanisms and have an appreciation of their application. English language 
skills required.
 
 
 
Head of Department (production) 
Degree in Earth science, Petroleum Engineering or Reservoir Engineering, (MSc 
or Ph.D) and international experience of 7 years including offshore projects. 
The ideal candidate will have several of the following skills; production 
optimization, artificial lift selection, well performance modeling, stimulation 
methods analysis and design (hydraulic fracturing, matrix acidizing), upper and 
reservoir completion design, oil and gas reservoir performance, waterflood 
management, material balance modeling and well test analysis. Experience in 
management of a production team an advantage. English language skills required.
 
Chief Specialist (production) 
Degree in Earth science or Petroleum Engineering, (BSc or higher degree) and at 
least 5 years industry experience. The ideal candidate will have the following 
skills; production optimization, artificial lift selection, well performance 
modeling, stimulation methods analysis and design (hydraulic fracturing, matrix 
acidizing), upper and reservoir completion design, oil and gas reservoir 
performance, waterflood management.   English language skills required. 
 
Head of Department (drilling) 
Degree in Engineering (MSc or Ph.D) and experience of 7 years is important. The 
ideal candidate will have knowledge and understanding of several if not all the 
following; well construction, site work, drilling operations, drilling permit 
applications, selection of drilling locations , contractor crews, safety and 
completions, coordination of drilling and well workover activities, down-hole 
equipment problems.  They will also fully understand material work orders for 
drilling and well servicing equipment repairs. Some international experience of 
managing a drilling team and offshore/deepwater drilling is a distinct 
advantage. English language skills required.
 
Chief Specialist (drilling) 
Degree in Engineering, (BSc or higher degree) and at least 5 years industry 
experience. The position requires the following qualifications and skills: 
drilling operations, well construction, safety issues, drilling and well 
workover activities, down-hole equipment problems and equipment repairs.   
English language skills required.
 
Head of Department (facilities) 
Degree in Engineering or numerate discipline (MSc or Ph.D) and 7 years 
experience preferably working for a production and/or a construction company. 
The ideal candidate will have experience of several of the following; 
contracting and risk management, typical surface production equipment (piping, 
separators, tanks, pumps, compressors, electrical, instrumentation, etc.) .  
Supervisory experience an advantage. English language skills required.
