GARUDA PLANE FIRE IN YOGYAKARTA, CENTRAL JAVA, INDONESIA This morning a Garuda Indonesia Airlines Boeing 737-400, Flight No GA 200 burst into flames on landing at Yogyakarta's Adisucipto airport. The flight which originated in Jakarta (departing 06.00am) was reportedly carrying some 133 passengers and crew.
It appears a fire occured as the plane was landing and flames quickly engulfed the fusilage from cabin to tail. Early indications are that some 76 passengers were evacuated and moved to two local hospitals and that as many as 57 others are unaccounted for at this time, possibly trapped in the wreckage.
