3D induction lebih maju dari induction tool biasa. 3D induction terdiri dari multikomponen X,Y dan Z (Tx,Ty,Tz,Rx,Ry,Rz) mampu membaca anisotropy pada formasi (contoh laminated sand-shale) walaupun sumurnya miring .
