Responsible for providing regional and prospect specific evaluation, through the integration of all data sources. You will also be responsible for providing recommendations for bid proposals based on a synthesis of the integrated geologic, geophysical data and engineering data. Additional Responsibilities include: - Providing advice on basin and play prospectivity - Working from the regional scale to prospect scale. Identify new plays and exploration concepts, grounded by producing field analogs. - Prospecting Generation and Evaluation, including interpretation of 2D/3D seismic data to produce maps, and maturation of these prospects to AFE status for drilling. - Integrating play analysis and prosecution into the evaluation and exploration of a project. - Preparation of auditable volumes and risking for leads and prospects. - Participating in peer review, partner's meetings, etc. - Sharing knowledge and engaging with colleagues in teams and regions. - Collaborating with other teams - Maintaining awareness of technology developments (internal and external) and deploying fit-for-purpose new technology - Documenting all work products and manage data. - Maintaining and apply updated awareness of competitor activities (successes and failures) to our understanding petroleum systems. * * *Senior Geophysicist * *North Africa*** *Responsibilities:* 1. Identify and understand structural and stratigraphic subtleties. 2. Reservoir and field mapping for input into geological models. 3. Formulate and oversee seismic processing flowstream. 4. Application of geophysical technology and interpretation practices for field exploitation, development, and opportunity appraisal. 5. Apply advanced interpretation techniques to provide improved reservoir characterization, leading to technical recommendations made to management. 6. Support geologists and engineers in multi-disciplinary teams towards the formulation of development plans and well plans. *Qualifications:* 1. Bachelors or Masters Degree in Geophysics 2. Ten years of experience in both production and exploration roles 3. Proficiency with Landmark applications including ZMap. 4. Previous experience with Geoprobe and VoxelGeo. 5. Team player with strong interpersonal skills 6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills 7. Self-starter with a strong desire to deliver superior results 8. Ability to mentor junior scientists *Senior Geophysicist* *Europe*** Geophysicist position available in Europe, to work multiple new venture opportunities. The Geophysicist must be familiar with multiple 2D and 3D interpretation and mapping systems. Should be competent with seismic analysis tools to create forward models of interpretations. Will be required to interface with state organizations such that local language capabilities would be helpful, but not required. Must be able to work in a team environment and find ways to integrate geophysical processes to improve project results. Successful candidates will analyze subsurface information to generate new prospects and play opportunities. Skill set includes preparation and interpretation of the following: quality control and integration of varied and sometimes difficult datasets, depth converted structure maps, seismic cross sections, seismic visualization, attribute maps, integration of subsurface geologic and geophysical data, seismic sequence stratigraphy, regional basin analysis, and risk & reserves uncertainty analysis. Other responsibilities may also include evaluation of acquisition opportunities, evaluation of discoveries, and occasional presentation at partner and regulatory meetings. The position will involve close teamwork with geologists, engineers and commercial negotiators.
