6.2 Magnitude Earthquake Off the Coast of Northern Sumatra

A 6.2 magnitude earthquake was recorded off the coast of northern Sumatra on 1
December
at a depth of 35 kilometers (22 miles). The epicenter of the earthquake
was located approximately 100 kilometers (65 miles) west northwest of
Sibolga and 190 kilometers (120 miles)south southwest of Medan.
There are currently no indications of damage in the affected region or
reports of casualties as a result of the earthquake. No tsunami
warnings have been issued.
