Mar 15, 2011 By OGJ editors HOUSTON, Mar. 15 -- Cooper Energy Ltd. started production from the Bunian 1 well, its first worked over well in the Sukananti KSO in South Sumatra, Indonesia. Cooper was awarded the Sukananti KSO in July 2010. A KSO (Kerjasama Operasi) is a technical assistance contract. The well currently is cleaning up on a pump and produces 130 bo/d. The 18.25 sq km Sukananti KSO includes the Sukananti, Bunian, and Tangai fields. Bunian-1 is the first of several well workovers the company plans for the fields. Cooper Energy notes that the three fields within the KSO have produced 1.08 million bbl of oil to date and it expects to recover an additional 1 million barrels of oil by drilling a new development well and undertaking wellbore remediation and workovers. Cooper Energy is the operator and holds a 55% interest in the KSO.
