(CNPC) is acquiring a stake in a natural gas field offshore Mozambique in Area 4 from Eni SPA for $4.2 billion. The companies also signed a joint study agreement covering Rongchang shale gas block in China. Share: Cuadrilla delays UK Bowland shale work for environmental impact assessment Cuadrilla Resources Ltd. plans to delay plans to start hydraulic fracturing in a Bowland basin shale project in Lancashire, UK, until 2014 to give the company time to get an environmental impact assessment (EIA) for some exploration wells, Cuadrilla Chief Executive Francis Egan said. Share: China shale gas challenges match its potential, expert suggests China faces significant geologic, development, transportation, and bureaucratic challenges if it expects to fully exploit its shale gas resources, even though they’re probably greater than those in the US, an IHS CERA expert said. Share: Rosetta to buy Permian basin assets from Comstock Rosetta Resources Inc. is entering the Permian basin with plans to buy assets from Comstock Resources for $768 million, subject to customary closing adjustments. The acquisition covers 53,306 net acres (87,373 gross) in Reeves and Gaines counties in West Texas. The Reeves County assets are in the Delaware basin and the Gaines County assets are in the Midland basin. Share: Illinois: Horizontal well eyed in dolomite below New Albany Strata-X Energy Ltd., Golden, Colo., plans to drill a horizontal well in the Illinois basin to test for oil in an undisclosed dolomitic formation below the Devonian New Albany shale. Share: XTO to buy BNK's Oklahoma Woodford shale gas assets ExxonMobil Corp.’s XTO Energy Inc. subsidiary will buy Woodford shale gas assets in Tishomingo field in south-central Oklahoma from BNK Petroleum Inc., Camarillo, Calif., for $147.5 million. Share: Chevron on target for production goals in 2017 and beyond Chevron Corp. is on schedule to deliver its 2017 production target of 3.3 million boe/d because 98% of its targeted production already is in design, construction, or production.
