Lambok Hutasoit, Ph.D.* IDR 14.500.000,00 *Course Overview :* *1. **Overpressure in Sedimentation Basins: Mechanism, Prediction, and Estimation, Application to Geohazard and Petroleum Systems Analysis, and some Case Studies from Indonesia's Sedimentary Basins* Overpressure analysis may be a routine job for everyone working in the oil industry. The analysis in the industry may mainly be dedicated to ensure that the geological objective can be achieved safely by drilling. Overpressure is a geological phenomenon, and like other geological phenomena, if we ignore geology in analysing overpressure, the result will most likely be wrong. Therefore, this course will discuss the very basic of the geology of overpressure, so that the overpressure analysis could be performed as accurately as possible. The understanding of overpressure concept could also aid exploration program such as the exploration of 'unconventional' hydrodynamic trap and analysing sealing capacity of a trap. The course will also deal with this subject. The course will comprise the introduction to subsurface pressure, data source to analyse subsurface pressure, overpressure generating mechanisms, overpressure prediction and estimation, practical application of overpressure, and introduction to the application of overpressure to petroleum play analysis. Overpressure cases in some Indonesia's sedimentary basins will also be discussed at the end of the course. The course will be in an interactive format, i.e. the participants will actively be involved by doing lots of exercises. Download Flyer : Click Here <http://www.iagi.or.id/kursus/files/2014/05/June-Pak-Agus1.pdf> *2. **Hydrogeology: Managing Environmental Disaster In Mining, Oil & Gas Industry* The management of hydrogeology may be defined as the application of hydrogeological principles to environmental protection, mainly to groundwater and soil contaminations, and community water supply protection. The mining and petroleum industries have potential to contaminate groundwater and soil through their activities such aswaste processing, producedwater discharging, and dewatering. This course is aimed at understanding of hydrogeological principles that can be used to prevent the environment and will cover the essential of hydrogeological principles such as Darcy's law, exploration hydrogeological methods, groundwater flow direction, groundwater chemistry and contamination, groundwater monitoring programs, and introduction to groundwater modeling. The Government of Indonesia's (GoI) regulation related to groundwater protection will also be discussed in this course, together with some case studies in mining and petroleum industries related to groundwater contamination.
