Dear fellows MGEI,
The 11th MGEI (Indonesian Society of Economic Geologists) Annual
Convention 2019 follows on from the very successful previous ten
conventions held since 2009. It will be held in Bogor, September 24-26
September 2019.
With many geological- and non geological-factors generating concealed
and complex deposits, the keys will be ‘deep orebody knowledge’ and
‘integrated mining/engineering factors’. The challenge to unveil the
concealed and to unlock the complexity is timely since the industries
are facing the range of complexities toward mineral and coal projects.
Developing new approaches to address the technical, environmental, and
even social challenges are recently required to lock up future mineral
supply.
For the 11th MGEI Annual Convention 2019 ‘Concealed and Complex
Deposits’, we aim to integrate well-informed and thought ideas in
disciplines of economic geology, engineering, and technology such as new
or updated mineralization models, ore variability and the
characterization, non-conventional mineralization models,
geological-cover, geophysics, geometallurgy, mining engineering, and
tecno-economical feasibility.
Last, Concealed and Complex Deposits Convention series have become a
very important event in the exploration and mining calendar, so we
encourage you to save the date, present a paper, participate in the
convention and hear from worldclass presenters, such as:

We also provide auxiliary programs for pre- and post-convention,
comprising a number of fieldtrips and workshops. Fieldtrip programs will
offer four packages of visit to Freeport Indonesia, Lepanto
(Philippine), Batu Hijau-Southwest Lombok-(Tumpang Pitu), and Bayah Dome
(Pongkor-Cikotok-Kerta). They mainly start from regional geology, core
shed, pit or underground mine, processing plant and post-mine (if
available). Workshops will consist of Advanced Resource Estimate, Coal
Mining Geology, and Valmin Code.
