I haven't tried IBatis with Firebird yet. I suppose now would be a good time to do that. Could you post your <provider> entry? I'm not familiar with Firebird, what version of the server would I need to download: Classic or Super Server. Could you please tell us what file(s) from this page:

Judging from your ability to connect to Sql Server it sounds like its working.
