Good feedback!  We can add something in the Wiki and the site to explain how to handle the improvement/feature/change request process.

An example of the documenation:
The current linked Developer's Guide download lists only "file" as an
attribute of SqlMap and incorrectly lists the parent as dataMaps.:
Example 53. SqlMap elements
<dataMaps>
<sqlMap file="Maps/Category.xml"/>
<sqlMap file="Maps/Product.xml"/>
<dataMaps>

I think the problem here is that the current link on ibatis.com and on the Apache incubator site (I think that's the link you're referring to) is pointing to the Generic Dev Guide that was based on iBATIS.NET 0.9.1 beta.  See this file list for clarification:

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=109704

The iBATIS.NET v0.9.1 beta docs link halfway down the file list is the current link used on the site.  We updated the docs for DataMapper 1.1 and DataAccess 1.5 (actually a new doc) and released them together with their respective Alpha releases back in January, but the links never made it to the incubator or ibatis.com sites unfortunately.  This can be changed.  :-)

Anyway, the links to the updated DataMapper 1.1 and DataAccess 1.5 docs are found at the top of the file list.

It's not clear to users of the site that the documentation is not up
to date as it does not refer to the version that it was written for.
It is also not clear that you can build your own documenation. And the
process of installing and building in SVN isn't particularly
easy/straight-forward.

Good idea.  This can be also added to the docs as a note/info/tip on how developers can keep them up to date between releases.

Anyway, these are just my observations from using IBATIS.NET over the
past 6 months for a (getting close to) production web service.

If you have a little time, it would be great if you could share your feedback about the process of using iBATIS.NET in your implementation.  I'm sure there are folks out there that are on the fence or need to hear more things about using the DataMapper before trying it out.

Thanks Bob!
