I own a Lenovo E555. After the switch from Debian Jessie to Stretch fan stopped working Symptom: overheat then halt circa 90° and fan does not wake up.
Booting with acpi=off: fan run automatically when needed as it should. Booting previous Jessie's kernel (I used to be on 4.9.0 Debian's backport) does not solve the issue (could be firmware-related then?)
