You can, but just like the panels, it will be a 2-step process. If you do a

set bdy(target).
list sysmod(usermod).

You will get the module(s) the usermod affects. You the need to do another
list command to get the lmod from the mod ie.

set bdy(target).
list mod(module_the_above_list_command_said).

This will then give you the lmod(s) that are impacted. Sorry, but I've seen
no other way to get this info. If you look at the ISPF panels, you have to
go through the same process. The ISPF SYSMOD list just shows the mod as
well, and as you said, you need to do an ISPF MOD list to get to the lmod.

Subject: SMPe CSI query

Can I get smpe to tell me if an lmod was built for a usermod? (don't care
about other kinds of umods).

set bdy(target) .

list
usermod
xref .

Gets me to the mod of a sysmod if its a usermod just fine. but I can't see
the lmod that was built from the reported mod. I know if I user the ispf
iface and use csi query mod, the lmod from the mod is listed. I'd like it in
a file instead of a screen, and was hoping for 1 or maybe 2 stepts to get
the data. I've been looking through the manuals a bit and searched the
lserve but it shouldn't be hidden info if it's possible. I'm guessing it's a
feature and I'll have to rmo solution. but I'm no smpe expert...
