You do all the work in the SCDS. The system handles the ACDS when you activate
the SCDS. At my site, we use the following steps

Use IDCAMS to allocate a new test SCDS and copy the current production
SCDS into it.

Use ISMF to make updates to this new SCDS.

Use ISMF to test and validate the changes.

Use ISMF to activate the new SCDS. This will cause it to be loaded into
the ACDS.

If there are any problems, reactivate the previous SCDS with the operator
command:
          SETSMS SCDS(the-production-SCDS-dsname)

After successful testing, use IDCAMS to copy the test SCDS to the
production SCDS and then activate it.

Hello all,

I'm not that farmliar with changing the SMS ACDS and SCDS datasets.

The person who did this has left and now I'm trying to execute a change which
we need ASAP.

Would some one be good enough to give me the steps needed to get this done. Off
list would be best.

Thanks.
