I just installed version 7 of CA-Intertest and CA-SymDump. I, personally, like Bookmanager (no accounting for taste, eh?). Is there a way to convert a PDF file into a BOO file without the Bookmanager product installed?
Is there a way to convert PDF files to BookManager softcopy format even *with* a BookManager product installed? I have never known any way to do this using the tools to which I have access.
For our products, we generate HTML, PDF, and BookManager softcopy books from a common source (M$ Word documents).
I agree that BookManager is far superior to Acrobat for searching, especially when using a Library Server product.
BTW, all sites at z/OS V1R5 and higher have "IBM Library Server for z/OS" installed in SYS1.LINKLIB(EPHBOOKS). The z/OS program directory tells you how to set it up. It can serve up both BookManager softcopy and Adobe PDF documents on the same page. For documents stored in traditional MVS data sets, it handles migration/recall quite nicely.
