Which, if he did, means that the "solution" would not have worked in
this case because all the consoles were gone, so there would have been
no console available to reply to the message to allow a console to be
varied. Catch-22.

Oh - I got an off-line message that they used Sysview to recover the
consoles. Just in case anybody else was interested. Certainly much
simplier that my "use the interrupt key" with its "14 step" method. I
don't care what anybody says, I miss the older hardware at times.
