that he has verified that such a distinction is operational.  He has not
chosen to share the details of the verification with the list, unless it
is his Aristotelian derivation from the text of the User's Guide.  By all
our more empirical observations, that conclusion appears to be contravened
by the actual behavior of z/OS.
