Thank you for you reply Bruce. I assumed that once I had the format, the data would also be available. We plan on using both attributes and data. I wanted to emphasis the VSAM aspect of this as oppossed to the sequential or volume backups.
No, our "DRP" site is not commercial. There is a specific application that is desired. We are trying to put together a cost-benefit analysis to show that the cost of a "single" custom built DRP solution, would "cost" not much more than "proper" generic DRP solution. So I have been asked to look at particular solutions and give an estimate of what it would take. I don't have the "big" picture assignment, just one of part of a little picture.
