Do people have to get a new number when they get a new last name? One reason we normalize databases without "smart keys", is that *any* datum about a person can change over time. Police databases have to be prepared to have people with a bunch of names and a bunch of social security numbers. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
