I believe there is still a limit on concatenated datasets for number of total extents ... could be an issue if you concatenate many datasets. This may be a moot point as I believe earlier versions of SMS defined up to the max specified but more recent versions add as necessary.

I realize there is a potential performance hit, but I'm not to concerned about that for the particular files in question. I also realize there are some other solutions. The pools in question consist of mod-3 volumes, and I'd love to convert them to larger volume configurations, but that simply is not an option for me at this time.
