In case you have prefix in TSO segment of RACF database, wich is the most usual situation, you can acces and modify this field by an user program.
This field is saved ALWAYS at end of TSO session. So if you are RACF administrator, be carefull of changing it while the user is in an active session. In this case, the prefix set by user will put again in RACF database at session ending. The program to see and/or modify this field can be found free in MVS UPDATE of XEPHON at http://www.xephon.com/arcframe/f001a02 At the begining of 90's we changed the usual tso prefix (userid) to "unusual" of GROUPID. We have ten groups more or less and no more catalog updates when adding/deleting users. For that scenario, this tool is very usefull, because it is mandatory have "groupid" as prefix in Tso PROFILE prefix and racf administrator sets it while adding a new user. IBM-ISPF and most vendors work with this form: when the TSO PREFIX is not equal to USERID, the files are allocated and used with TSO_PREFIX.USERID.XXXXX pattern.
