That is correct. DB2 logging is designed to recover in the case of a
total power failure at your main site. As long as all the volumes are
at the same point of I/O consistency (as in a power failure), DB2
logging can back out any uncompleted transactions, as if they never
started, bringing the databases back to the pont a few seconds before
the failure.
This will work with other databases and transaction systems with similar
logging and recovery, but it doesn't do anything for other types of
data. It is totally dependant on the type and design of the application
using the data as to whether problems will exist after a power failure
or restart from a consistent copy
