Hello Mike, Before HCD and IODFs the esoteric token was generated in the IOGEN implicitly. So the first esoteric was "1" sequentially.
So if you changed the order of esoteric entries, the tokens changed and so maybe caused catalogued dataset access problems. When I turned on the tokens in my esoterics some years back, I scanned my catalogs for any entries using tokens. I used these to populate my esoteric list. And now I just pick an unused number whenever I add an esoteric. I am also consistent in the token value across EDT lists and across sites. Having coded esoteric tokens also makes it simpler when you delete an entry. But since the message is just a warning you can also ignore it.
