I believe he was talking about a PL/1 program. Presumably 
compiled with the standard PL/1 compiler and running under
good ol' LE. I'm prepared to be wrong, but I doubt there's
a snowball's chance in hell of getting an AC(1) program to 
run correctly in that environment and even if it did, that
would only get it there in an APF authorized condition. 

I believe the interface requirement for the crypto stuff is
actually that you must be in sup state as the poster said.
Not a prayer of accomplishing that from PL/1. Some asm glue
would be needed and he's a self-professed newbie.
