Does anybody know of any third party support for 3174's, or evem where we can
get some for parts?
We had a power hit recently and UPS failed.
Our service provider is attempting to re-build a few out of what we have, but
we may need to go elsewhere.

Our biggest issue is the drives inside.

If you know of something/someone, could you please let me know.

Preferably in the Toronto, Ontario, Canada area; beggers can't be choosers!

I'm not from Toronto, however I'm happy 3174 user.
My $0.02 worth advice:
Buy 3174's, more than you need.
Replace your failed boxes with the 'new' ones.
Keep few more boxes for next failure.
Preferrably one spare in rack, just below (over) working) 3174's.
Sleep safe.
Oh, I forgot: create several copies of the diskettes. It would be the best to have all 3174's equally configured. Otherwise you need more diskettes and clear (distinct) description on them.

BTW: I found spare *new* Hitachi drives (floppy disk drives, 2.4MB) for $165. Orderable via Internet. That's a lot when compared to regular 3.5" 1.44MB floppy, but still a little bit less than whole 3174. Floppy replacement is a piece of cake. Of course it is good idea to check first if the drive is really out of order. Feasible when you have another 3174.
